Maybe Roger McDowell Is Correct

May three, 2011 - Braves pitching coach RogerMcDowell was in the news this past week, when he was suspended for lewd feedback and untoward behavior shown to a group of fans prior to a game. A few withthe New york Giants and Ny Jets draft picks cometo city with RussellMartin grey jersey warning labels and "character problems." The brand new York Yankees and Ny Mets have a few PED cheats ontheir rosters, with one just joining his team following finishinghis suspension (althoughtechnically that was completed awhile ago as he was recently onthe DL). Greedy NFL owners are locking out wealthy gamers to line their ownpockets and sticking it to fansat the same time once once more. Yankee Stadium and Citi Field have rows and rows of empty seats behind home plate (as do numerous stadiums across the country) pricing out the typicalfamily (unless you count the Gates clan because the average family), oncemore, as greedy owners spit in the encounter of theirown enthusiasts.

And as all
of those things are going on, nobody bats an eye any longer. It's all standard procedure for 21st-century professional sports. Why wouldn't a college player have already been arrested or suspended or expelled? Why wouldn't owners and gamers treat the individuals who are generating them wealthy with contempt? Why would not a player cheat whatsoevercosts or have handcuffs slappedon him?

Unfortunately, that's just the way in which it is these days. Wehave arrive to accept the truth that the gamers we view on the area have a revolving-doorpolicy with courtrooms and prisons. And as owners and commissioners claimthey're "thinking ofthe fans" or whatever policy they put into action is really a "gift towards thefans" (does a receipt come with thatcuddyer white jersey present so I can exchange it for something I really want?), it will get harder and tougher to go to oreven watch a sporting occasion.
There's the occasionalall-American incident in theballpark, as we recently saw with David Wright having a catch having a gang of youngsters before a game in Atlanta (and once a decade or so something unique will unfold because it did Sunday evening in Philadelphia). But that nearly seems to be the exception ratherthan the rule these days. Roger McDowell angrily stated to a fatherof nine-year-old twin women (while threatening to knock his teeth out) the ballpark is no place for children. And with boorish miscreant enthusiasts filling the stands, law-breaking, rule-violating gamers on the area, fan-ridiculingpitching coaches roaming aboutand let-them-eat-cake owners, youknow what? He just may be correct.
